Description
The Infobox Second Life location
template should be used for articles on locations within Second Life.
Articles should not be created for every in-world location in Second Life, but should be created for places worth visiting. They might be regions, sims, stores, skyboxes, etc.
As a rule, if a location has appeared in Stylecards, then an article should be created for it.
Fields
The following fields are available to use in this template:
- image
- alt
- caption
- name
- owner
- slurl
- website
The image field should be the location's logo. If one isn't available, use no-image-location.png
and add Category:No logo
at the bottom of the page.
The alt field should be a simple description of the image being used. The logo for Stylecards features a white S in front of a blue background, is an example of a good alt text description for an infobox. All images on this website must include alt text.
The caption field should be a short description of the image being used. The caption will appear as italicized text beneath the image, and should be short enough to fit on one line. The logo for Stylecards, is an example of a good caption.
The name field should be the name of the location about which the article is being written. Some locations include slogans or descriptions in their names. If that's the case, try to simplify the name to something people will understand. Ideally, a location name will be less than 20 characters.
The owner field should be used for the name of the resident or group that owns the location.
The slurl field should be a link to the location in Second Life. It can be an actual SLurl or a link to the location on the Second Life map.
The website field should be a link to the location's website, if it has one. Most locations in Second Life don't have websites, but some do. For instance, if a creator has an in-world store, they might also have a website.
